How did it go so far?

I am a Lead AI Infrastructure Engineer with 14+ years of experience, specialising in Healthcare Edge AI and regulated medical platform engineering. I currently lead the iDA Platform at Curagita AG — an on-premise Kubernetes edge infrastructure deployed across 26+ clinical sites in Germany, enabling hospitals to run vendor-certified AI algorithms locally without any patient data leaving the premises.
My core focus is solving the “Last Mile” problem in Medical AI: closing the gap between state-of-the-art ML models and clinical reality. This means handling everything from SaMD-compliant DevSecOps pipelines and automated SBOM generation, to prototyping and productising local LLM inference stacks and integrating DICOM/HL7 data pipelines directly into clinical visualisation tools like the OHIF Viewer.
Prior to Curagita, I spent five years forward-deployed inside the Radiology department at Uniklinik Cologne as part of Philips Healthcare, giving me a rare first-hand understanding of how radiologists work and what it actually takes for AI to be adopted in a clinical environment — not just technically, but behaviourally.
Core Competencies:
✦ Platform & Edge Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Cilium, FluxCD (GitOps), Terraform, zero-trust networking
✦ Healthcare AI: Local LLM Inference (vLLM), Vision-Language Models, DICOM Pipelines (Orthanc, MinIO), OHIF Integration
✦ Hardware-Aware AI: Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin, Nvidia GPU Operator, GPU scheduling on K8s
✦ Regulatory & Security: SaMD Compliance, SBOM tracking (OWASP Dependency-Track, SonarQube), Audit Pipelines
✦ Languages & Backends: C#/.NET Core, Python, TypeScript

Three pillars of my engineering practice
Designing and operating on-premise Kubernetes clusters at the hospital edge — enabling secure, low-latency AI inference without exposing sensitive patient data to the cloud. Expertise in Cilium, GitOps, Terraform, and zero-trust network architecture.
Building robust DICOM/HL7/FHIR data pipelines that connect radiology systems, AI models, and clinical workflows. Deep hands-on experience with Orthanc, MinIO, OHIF Viewer, and clinical LLM/VLM integration for automated reporting.
Transforming deployment workflows to meet Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) standards. Implementing automated SBOM tracking, Software Composition Analysis (OWASP Dependency-Track, SonarQube), and ‘golden test’ suites for regulatory auditability.
